Parent Forum

A lot of research has been done to show that after school leadership and quality of teaching, parental involvement and engagement is the next biggest factor influencing a child’s educational success.

Parental involvement is a key lever in school improvement. The Parents Forum Group at Harris Girls' Academy Bromley is a way of giving parents a voice within the academy and a means of opening up dialogue and feedback on what the academy is doing, why, and giving parents the opportunity to contribute to policy making on issues which affect them. It is also about creating a positive culture within the academy by strengthening feelings of ownership and commitment within the local community.

The HGABR Parent Forum Group is open to any parent that would like to contribute positively to the life of the Academy. The council meets each half term to discuss a range of issues in order to offer its opinions. Although not a decision making body, members of the council have the opportunity to influence decisions through open dialogue with staff.
