UKMT Maths Challenge - Junior Challenge Accepted
Several HGABR students participated in the UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Junior level Challenge this half term and we are excited to report that 23 of our participating students achieved a certificate, which is a fantastic achievement given the difficulty of the challenge.
As before with the Intermediate challenge, the competition is extremely hard and aimed at those gifted within Mathematics. Students attempt to problem solve and work their way through multiple choice questions, whereby a wrong answer can cost you points. Only the UK’s top 20% are awarded certificates in either Bronze, Silver or Gold.
Once again, of those that entered, just over 20% of HGABR students achieved a certificate which is brilliant and a testament to all their hard work. Students came away with; 1 gold, 5 silver and 17 bronze awards.
A special mention goes to Comfort in year 7 who got a rare Gold award and got the highest mark in the whole school.
Well done to all participants!
