The core aim of any good school should be to equip its students to achieve their personal best, gaining the skills and qualifications they need to be successful now and in the future. Harris Academy Bromley aims to provide a high quality, challenging yet personalised education for girls and young women between the ages of 11 – 19 and young men from 16-19.

Harris Academy Bromley was launched in September 2011, having been offered a unique opportunity to review what had been effective in the former school, Cator Park, build on that and innovate and improve opportunities and achievement using the experience of colleagues in the Harris Federation of South London.

This is an academy which encourages its students to have drive and ambition, to aim high, work hard and always achieve their personal best. It combines the best of modern teaching, with an emphasis on the traditional values of manners, good behaviour and smart uniform. It is working closely with the other Harris Academies, so that secondary education in this part of the borough is brought up to the high standards which parents elsewhere in the area have long been used to. As one of the newest members of the Harris Federation, Harris Academy Bromley builds on the Federation’s 20 years of experience and an exceptional track record of moving schools to an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted judgement.

Pastorally, our Faculty structure ensures every student has a strong sense of belonging and that our Academy, as a whole, has a confident, caring and happy atmosphere. Our expectations of our students are that they will take on positions of responsibility, be committed, optimistic and resourceful learners and have pride in themselves and their Academy.

Our motto at Harris Academy Bromley is “Enquire, Endeavour, and Excel”. These three words are at the heart of the teaching and learning that takes place here.
