GCSE Results Day 2019

Excellent results at Harris Girls’ Academy Bromley

It has been another great year at Harris Girls’ Academy Bromley, with 80% of students gaining at least a Grade 4 in maths and English and 62% gaining a Grade 5 or higher.

35% of students achieved the challenging and coveted Ebacc qualification, which means they successfully passed in English, maths, science a humanities subject and a language. This is significantly higher than the national average, which last year was 24%.

Students achieved a remarkable 63 ‘super’ Grade 9s, equivalent to an A**. These were gained across a variety of subjects, with 17 in English and 10 in maths.

The following star students all achieved top grades:

  • Abbey Brown and Jessica Ralph: each of these students achieved 7 Grade 8 to 9 GCSEs (equivalent to A* and A**);
  • Eyeresulem Asefa, Najma Farah, Georgia Mensah, Iris O’Grady, Libby Powell, Athalia Smith-Boakye and Amara Uzokwe: each of these students achieved Grade 9s in science;
  • Saskia Le Vien and Vanessa Ajimobi: both achieved Grade 9s in English and maths.

David Astin, Executive Principal of Harris Girls’ Academy Bromley, said

“The girls’ success is testament to the hard work and dedication they have shown over the last 5 years in school and we are delighted for them.  I would like to congratulate them on their results and wish them continued success in the sixth form.”
