HGABR - Financial Times January 2021

As schools across England closed to the majority of their pupils in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the Financial Times spoke to teachers and leaders from Harris Girls’ Academy Bromley to find out how they have been coping with the sudden move to remote learning.

Like all Harris academies, Harris Girls’ Academy Bromley was well-prepared to roll-out the switch to virtual lessons. This included delivering training in remote teaching and ensuring all pupils have access to suitable laptops and could access support from home.

Head of Academy Samuel Rigby said:

“We’ve learnt a huge amount between March and now. My staff are extremely experienced now in teaching online, tracking children’s learning, and knowing what’s going on with their pupils. We’re really confident that we know what we’re doing.”
