6 Form CORE DAY - December 2025
Every year, the entire school spend a day out on various educational and enjoyable trips. We refer to it as CORE Day, an acronym for our school's values: Commitment, Optimism, Resilience and Empathy. The Sixth Form had a great day on Thursday, 11th December. Here's how they spent CORE day.
Year 12
Our Year 12 students had an amazing time on CORE Day today. In the morning , students visited The British Museum, viewing exhibitions on the ancient world and Nordic noir. The sheer scale of the museum is staggering and students were transfixed by the preservation of the artefacts.
Another group visited The Hunterean Museum in Russell Square, which houses weird and wonderful objects from scientific history like silver prosthetic noses, sheep gut condoms and a mummy's foot.
In the afternoon, the students met up at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park to get into the festive spirit and have fun together. What a wonderful day for our year 12s!

Year 13
Our magnificent Year 13s spent their CORE day on London’s beautiful South Bank. The students had a blast at Immersive Gamebox, working together and having fun in virtual reality games such as Squid Game and 'The Floor is Lava' . Some students visited the BFI to learn about the history of film and sample television from throughout UK history. Students researched how their local area was presented in television clips from the early C19th and saw the origins and developments of Dr Who over the past 70 years.
Finally, groups took part in a ‘Selfie Scavenger Hunt’ to find historical landmarks against the clock. One group miraculously solved all 10 riddles in 40 minutes, tracking down The Leake Street Tunnel, Mary Seacole statue, OXO tower and more.
What a day!
